    hehe that I am.

The media won't last forever though and it is worthwhile having a backup of the files even if it is just for yourself, but spreading the wealth means that should all else fail there is a chance you can pick up the image at a later date and play it again in future. As for devaluing the media, it is a shame prices may take a dive, but if you never intend to lose possession of the disc and it will reside in your collection indefinitely, this should be a non-issue. It is just a shame the only games which attract fundraiser funds are either cult classics or famously unreleased - many unreleased titles are out there but people will not care about most of them.

People trust me with their discs and their secrets though which is good I guess - I've been offered some things which ned to work out the arrangements, some things which are currently out of my field of expertise but the learning is cool and sadly some things which may never boot which is a shame.

Anyhow keep your eyes peeled as there should be something due next week, hopefully things will pick up and there will be more to follow.

Wow! This is interesting! Unblockables are only possible in the arcade revision A (990512), unlike the unpopular updated revision B (990608). I always assumed the DC version was based on revision B, but I guess Capcom based it on revision A and made the changes them selves? I don't know, that's an odd one. :/ It's possible v1.000 was originally intended to be based on revision A and then they simply dropped the revision B code in there instead for v1.001?

Here's one to test. There is a bug in revision A build which causes the game to reset if Ken wins against Makoto with a neutral throw (stand still without touching the dpad and press lp+lk to do a neutral throw). This bug was fixed in revision B and assuming v1.000 uses the 990512 build it should still be present.

A wonderful RDC release! They took the beta release and 1up's it by adding the CPS3 soundtrack. Do yourself a favor and grab Triple Threat SF3 ;)

Theisozone is a place to start. 3S arcade edition is a awesome release! CPS3 soundtrack, unblockable setups intact. The closest to arcade accurate DC owners could ever hope to get out of this quality fighter!

Thats interesting I always thought the original SF 3 on the double impact DC disc was supposed to be the arcade version? Sounds like they made some tweaks to it.

We aren't talking about New Gen or 2nd Impact found on Double Impact disc release. We are talking about 3rd Strike which got released seperately after Double Impact.

Our goal was simple, to preserve the integrity of the beta and to get the files out there for people to enjoy.

It is an interesting rerelase but changing the soundtrack is something anyone and their mother can do for their own personal use hehe

Easy or not, I'm just glad someone did. It further makes the game more enjoyable.

Our goal was simple, to restore the arcade soundtrack since Capcom foolishly removed it.

It is a rerelease for people so that them and their mothers didn't have to do it.

That is counter productive though as it only benefits the lazy people. Sure people may still have a go regardless, but less people will try when everything they could possibly want is ready made for them.

I'm sure as you discovered even making your own flavour of repack can be a source of entertainment. Robbing people of fun FTL :p

Also the more people that learn to use the tools IMO the better the community becomes as people can take care of their own releases and get the credit they deserve plus the communiity is stronger due to the different views and the broader skillset .

By that logic you shouldn't be releasing anything but GDIs.

The choice of format is usually set by the owner. If they pay good money for something it is up to them what format it is released in.

To put it bluntly the owner owes no one anything, so people should expect nothing. When they give a dog a bone they don't want to know if it tastes good or not and TBH as there are a lot of ungrateful freeloaders many owners feel they don't deserve a GDI dump. Even then CDI doesn't autmatically mean there is downsampling or unreasonable modification but it is nice to instill some form of doubt.

Also, I couldn't give you the GDI if I wanted to. The owner has since sold their GD-Rs and informed the new owner of the situation. In respect for the new owner, I deleted all of the content for every game I did for them and kept no backups.

Or by that logic if people want a GDI they can learn how to make it from the CDI (slightly more challenging than GDI to CDI), or buy and dump the GD-R as GDI for nothing themselves ;)

So...this is actually the 'original release', worked on to be a 'reverse engineered beta'?
If this is the case, it's technically still a commercial game dump... I think?
Please correct me if I'm wrong (I noticed the couple of last posts got merged with the already existing thread).

EDIT: I was mainly talking about the last posts.... as they say mod.
EDIT: wait...nvm, so it's the already existing BETA + the ost... *feels stupid now*

It is the beta with swopped sound files.

It is a kinda cool mod I guess, but I have never played the arcade version in an arcade, so I don't notice or care that the music was messed with for the home release by Capcom but evidently there are people who do ;) I'm more of a Street Fighter II / Street Fighter Alpha 3 man myself and I never really saw the appeal of Street Fighter III or even IV for that matter.

IMO it would have been nicer to post a DIY kit with links to the beta, the audio source details, tools and a tutorial so more people learn to do this themselves.
