Are some Genesis games not really optimized for non Composite video? After modifying one of my systems for S-Video, I noticed that the Sega developed games work great. EA games and Weaponlord acts rather funny. I can't see the cursor in NHL 97, and in Weaponlord, I get wavy lines. They seem to be in the minority, so I'm not too upset about it.
I have one with s-video and I haven't find any game giving strange behavior. I have play a lot of game including jap games and all fine. I don't have NHL 97 I have 95 and NBA showdown 94 and no problems.
Never noticed any issue with my S-Video genny either. What happens when you try those games in composite with the same console? In any case s-video should not cause pixels to disappear or graphic to corrupt.
Not likely, all standard models provide RGB output. The few who didn't include Wondermega and Laseractive.
It was just my model 2. I screwed up when doing the mod and killed pin 20, so for that one I'm stuck with S-Video. On my model 1, I don't have any of the problems with Weaponlord, just the usual faint jailbars, which isn't a problem considering Genesis games run a bit too fast for me to give a damn about quality. Just colors and clarity is fine for me.
