Hi people, I've been researching on a few Mega Drive games I've been waiting to play for a while so managed to keep one of the console I've modified to play at 50/60 Hz and UK/Jap languages. However the Language mod will not play all Jap carts in English which is a real shame. 1. any ideas why this might be , I Have on own suspicions and if this is the case ill need to translate the cart 2. swap the maskrom for a Eeprom with the US version but I'm unsure what size the Rom is, What program could I use to find this out for Snes games id use zsnes or bsnes to confirm these details any ideas? Like he said. A game needs to include both languages to switch. Though, yes, region locked games can still have both English and Japanese on the cart. American Streets of Rage 2 is most notable. JP mode blocked instead of removed.
HMMM ive tried Quack shot Jap cart - this works in English and jap Streets of Rage- Pal uk cart works in Jap and English Golden Axe I- Jap cart works in English- I think it English only anyway LOL Golden Axe II -Jap cart works in English (same as the first one) Ive tried a few other but hit as Miss as you guys have explained as above right about the Rom sizes- anyone have a clue how to find this information? Thanks for the heads up on the other websites ill look into them, I do plan to get a Ever-drive at some point but I have a habbit of seeing things thou to the end once I start
