Sega Genesis RGB color changing LED mod

I was bored, saw a video of the same thing on an Atari 2600, remembered I had one, and had it installed in under 5 minutes. LED was a direct replacement. The legs even matched up in width.

Pointless but fun mod...

 

Whoa cool! Where did you get the led? Id like to put one of those in my RGB modded overclocked N64.

 

I actually stole it from one of my grandma's "solar Powered Light up Butterfly" thingies. It was busted from a pet and the solar charging system was dead. But the LED was fine so it has new life now. A quick eBay search should reveal all. If you can't find one chances are one of those color changing solar powered lawn ornament thingies will have an LED somewhat like this.

EDIT: I found these. They're not the same as what I have but the LED in them seems to be proper sized and all the circuitry for them is in the LED itself making it so only 2 connections needed. Should work with pretty much any console. That and they're fairly cheap too.

 

Thanks! After searching for awhile, I actually found a 25ct bag for about 5 dollars. I think I just put RGB LED in the search. At first I tried Color Changing LED but I kept getting those remote controlled LED bulbs. Anyway, when I receive them, Ill post of vid of the N64 with it.

 

that is called a cross-fading led there are a lot of chinnese dealers selling lots in ebay.
