NOW I CAN'T FIND ANYMORE FUCKING NON TMSS (FJ846EUSASEGA) CONSOLES ON EBAY!! NOW Every time i see HDG consoles on ebay, I get FJ8USASEGA or the case that doesn't say HDG on the pictures. And i need a new VA2 board or i need a VA3 now!!! Before i get a new one, Does the serial indicate that you have a a non TMSS console?
Example: Serial that begins with 30V or 39S or T. Will this help?

As far as Im aware only the serial number is a give away. Im in the US so you can send the board to me to repair if you want.
A lot of people do not know the difference of non-tmss so they wont be specifically listed as such on ebay. plenty of consoles if you look through the regular auctions.

Click on his name and then "Start a Conversation."

And BTW, calm down, man. If Tofu can't find anything, I'll keep on my toes when I'm out buying games this weekend.

Never recap using capacitors from other 25 year old hardware. This is the equivalent of pissing your pants to keep warm. Only replace capacitors with new ones, they are not expensive.

The voltage regulator IS supposed to get very hot, and will absolutely have to be screwed into the heatsink to disperse the heat away from it.

Lastly, removing components and expecting the system to work properly afterwards is just silly. They are there for a reason ;)

I hope GoodTuFuFriday can fix the console for you. Don't be discouraged to modify your systems in the future. I've done some pretty retarded things too when I first started out. But keep your calm and use your head, and you'll do fine :)

That's a sexy SEGA Genesis launch unit you have there, sir. The scrubs on the green mask on the board might be from someone using a big tool to pry the caps out.

Thank you, but can my board still be fixed? What Genesis systems do you have. Do you have a spare launch unit that you have? I need a new board in case it can't be repaired.

Of course it can be repaired, but it will need the to be investigated. Likely one of the traces got ruptured and that prevents it from starting. Mending the broken trace will make it work again certainly.

    I don't have a Genesis, I have a VA3 Mega Drive1.

Is your VA3 Mega Drive 1 a Japanese or PAL System? I hope the traces can be fixed.

It's a Tec Toy unit (Genesis motherboard, European style casing with Genesis red led ring decal), gray reset button.
