I'm modding a VA7 Model 1 Genesis for rca audio/video + svideo and for the life of me I cannot find info on an alternate ground beyond the one provided on the DIN. I want to use a separate ground for the audio channels. Does anyone have any idea where an alternate ground point is located on a VA7 board? note: yes I know the VA7 has crap sound, and yes I know using RGB SCART + YUV converter would be better edit: ground info for other revisions would be appreciated as well, for some reason I actually had a hard time locating info on different revisions
Uhh, what?! How about the ground trace on the board? You can't miss it, it's most likely the f**k off great big chunky trace that runs around the whole board (without looking at the board)! Other than that, get your multimeter out and test continuity if you don't know. Or look at a chip (e.g. a logic chip) and find its ground from its datasheet.
All you're looking for is ground? There should be a million ways of getting it. The middle pin on a 7805 is ground, for instance, and if there's a metal rim at the edge of the board that should be ground too. edit: beaten to the punch
you could of just soldered a wire to the metal shield that surrounds the entire mother bored it was a rather creative way to ground the entire mother bored
