    Hi everyone,
I would like to know what people on here recommend to use for installing games on the Lindbergh. I do not have a Sega model external dvd drive to install games on my lindbergh machine and would like to get your input on what will work.

    Thank you!

An Xbox 360 HD-DVD Drive is the best one to use oddly enough.

Just thought I'd update with my experience, you are definitely spot on about the Xbox 360 HD-DVD Drive. It's the best option I've tried without any hiccups. The only negative about this is that there is no indicators of progress during the installation process for at least 10 minutes. You basically have to just plug it in with the disc in the drive, wait 10 minutes then you will see that the install is happening. Either way, they should rename this external drive as the Lindbergh Install drive. :)

    Thanks!

Just a curious question, can the Lindbergh Initial D games use the same I/o and controls as the Naomi ones or do they need their own special setup. In essence could you take the Naomi out of an id1, 2 or 3 cabinet and replace it with a Lindbergh without having to swap out I/o boards or pedals/wheel?

Funny you should mention that. The answer is yes and no. I did the same exact thing in the past. If you are planning to replace your Naomi 2 with a Lindbergh you can use the same exact JVS I/O it uses the same exact connections except for one connection that is used on the Lindbergh for the arrow keys, the steering wheel, pedals Start button and view change will work. The Naomi card reader obviously wont work since they use different cards. The Naomi force feedback uses a MIDI board but you can do one of two things. 1. You can connect a Midi to RS232 adapter to make it work with the Lindbergh or you can just look for the FFB board model (Servo Motor Drive BD SER NO. 838-14592) and replace the Midi board. The PSU on the Naomi won't work so the lindbergh will need its own power supply. YOu could use a standard ATX PSU but it must be at least 500W. All the other connections are exactly the same. Sega made their units 90% plug and play swappable minus these things I mentioned above. Let me know if you need clarification for any of what I've mentioned.

What are the arrow keys used for?

They're used to select cars and other options. The steering wheel and gas pedal can do the same thing.
