That's some fantastic work, sorta makes me want to pick up a Lindbergh system at some point. Looking forward to seeing what else comes of this!

Very impressive and exceptional work Jackalus. Well done my friend.

Just curious, but can this same thing be done with Naomi/Naomi 2 hardware? There is a Naomi emulator but it's still not up to par and progress on it has been painfully slow.

I guess this won't be (or never will be) implemented on NAOMI anytime soon, the reason being that Lindbergh runs Linux and NAOMI doesn't, which makes an huuuuge difference in these kind of situations.

You can always play the Naomi through a supergun with whatever controller (pad hack) you want.

    1. Jackalus did the testing and helped with configs. He also shot the video and asked for this project. However, all the coding was done by me. (Full credits for OR2 Gangsta-Edition to him though - I only did the input bit)
    2. Yes, sort of. I also have a full JVS stack (which also supports hardware), so in theory this would work for nearly all arcade machines if it would be implemented in hardware (Running it on a raspberry pi, beagleboard or something like that turning USB into JVS). It just doesn't work directly on Naomi because my code is for Linux and NAOMI doesn't even have USB hardware (to my knowledge).

Internally this is emulating a new JVS device on Lindbergh in software.

I might do it. It really depends if I can find some free time. Ideally I would want a hardware solution from USB to JVS/JAMMA/Xbox-USB/360-USB so I can use the same gamepads and input devices on every system. That'd probably go to kickstarter if it happens due to the cost of hardware design/production

    Any, read post #18

No not yet, read post #8

    Just to clarify:

Technical questions are always answered from my (developer) side. I'm normally not aware what state the final product is in.
I personally don't care and don't want to be affiliated with that side of things.

The way the project is organized is pretty simple: I code the low-level bits (Lindbergh hardware interfaces) and put my stuff into a private Dropbox. Jackalus then integrates it for end users.

This means that there is always a bit of time between my builds and integration.
So even though the code does support any wheel there isn't any way to configure it yet and hence it won't work.
Also, parts of the program which I test might not be used in the final product due to missing configuration / testing.

I was told final kits for end users are upgradable but I never really asked in which way or how (and personally, I don't care - it's just not my cup of tea). So once there is a configuration for more wheels (or a generic configuration) it should work. Until then you might be stuck with xbox 360 gamepads and one very specific version of the MOMO (Being the red / metal F1 version) - or whatever Jackalus decided to support/configure/test.

So regarding the user version ignore any of my replies and Jackalus has the final word about it.
However, if you are interested in the technical side of things (and upcoming things for the user version) then read my posts.

No. Lack of time and lack of hardware.
It's still possible though and it might be done at some point (not necessarily by me though).
