Sega Master System 1 VA2 PAL switch less mod?

Hello everyone,

just wondering if anyone has modded a pal master system model 1 VA2 with switchless 50/60hz? if so is there any guide?

This should give u some pointers. If u don't have a pic programmer, u can get pre flashed 16f630 pics from Bad_ad84. Good luck.

 

Thanks for the link however the VA2 SM1 PAL is a different layout.

 

Using the same principals in the guide I linked, this is a pic of a VA2 with a single switch wired.

Just test the points to double check for 5v and GND. There should be a trace to cut underneath. Reset and LED seem to be in the same place. Good luck.

No worries. From the look of the pic, the NTSE point should be 5v, the PAL point GND, and the middle point should have continuity with pin 57 on IC 5 (315-5124). If it's a PAL system, there should be a trace between the PAL point and the middle point which will need cutting. The RESET switch should have continuity with pin 22 of IC4 (315-5216). If u get the chance post some pics of your board topside and underside of these areas. Good luck.
