Hey guys! Last night my sister convinced me to dust off the old Megadrive 2 to play some games. I thought this was going to be a easy task but apparently it wasn't and we ended up not playing at all. I was hoping that someone here had a Grundig Xentia (early 2000's CRT model) or equivalent in order to explain where i did go wrong. It's a huge ass TV packed with menus and help guides, i plugged the AV cable, transformer, switched to channel 39 and started tuning in for "new channels", unsuccessfully. I tried with a Megadrive 1 i had laying around with the same frustrated result. Thoughts? :dejection:
Very helpful tip there! Thanks! I've found this site here but i can't figure out if my TV will output sound if i chose the Regular RGB cable: http://www.retrogamingcables.com/sega-genesis-mega-drive-2.html
If you want to try again using the antenna cable (which of course is the worst possible option) you need to pick any free program slot (don't have to go to 39 as you described it) and then manually tune to UHF channel 36 (apparently the range is 33-39). Having said that... just get the RGB cable.
I've explored all related menus and i couldn't find any that allowed me to chose UHF band. Grundig Xentia, great image lousy configurations... lol
