Sega Megadrive Pro Action Replay fault

Hi there, I recently recieved a Datel Pro Action Replay for my Sega Megadrive and with the switch in the bottom position the console will not boot. in the middle and up positions it boots into what ever game is in the top of the device. No matter what I try I cant get into the Software part of the Action Replay... I replaced the switch, Cleaned the contacts and reflowed the chips and conectors but still nothing. Can anybody help?

 

Found this - hope it works for you...
"In order to properly turn on your system, put your game into the PAR, turn the PAR switch to the middle position, and turn the system on. You will get the regular Sega license screen, and the game will play as normal. Next, turn the PAR switch to the down position, and press the reset button on the console. This will bring you to the PAR menu."

ok tried this and now it dosnt even boot the game at all
