I bought a megadrive model 1 yesterday when i connect it to my tv,it isnt working, but when i connected it to the TV downstairs,it worked on Chn 29 but it doesnt work on my own TV can someone help me out?
Have you tried to tune it in on your TV? You need to do this if you can't (by chance) find a preset that it'll work on.
Yeah, you'll need to tune it. Select an unused channel, hit Menu, and find 'Tuning' (or words to that effect).. You can manually search, usually involves holding a directional key and letting go when you find it. Make sure you save it. Be wary of any 'auto-search' options as you may find they like to re-tune/store your existing preset, which can be frustrating.
i just tested the megadrive with all the TVs in the house (4 tvs) and only 1 seems to work perfect on the second tv,the image flashed and on my big tv,the thing doesnt display anything
Yeah. eBay, RGB SCARTS are around £10. Any TV should tune RF. I preferred it when you could just twist a knob to tune it.. But you should be able to keep looking and eventually you should find it.
is it possible to make a Rgb cable with a loose DIN connector and a scart wire(the ones you use to hook up dvd players)?
Tell us more about your TV and its origins. Is it by any chance multi-system? JVC made those for the international market as back as 198x. We still have one, I used to play Famicom/NES-N64 on it (US, PAL, JP) thru RF. I wasn't one of those pushy bastards to ask my folks for a new TV just because it didnt have composite* *I did make them get an EDTV CRT in 2004 though
This is your TV.. right...? http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/5839/p6140736.jpg Really shouldn't be any problem tuning anything over RF. After all, when these TVs were most common, RF was basically always used for terrestrial TV. you may have to change the 'band' it is searching in.. Photos of your tuning menu might be handy. It should just be a matter of turning the console on.. directly plug it into the RF port.. press/hold scan and wait for a picture to come through, and then fine tune if possible..
