    Hi,

I just dug out my old Sega menacer. It could be busted, but I thought I would ask here before the autopsy.

I inserted 6 fresh AAA batteries. The device seems to power up, an IR LED (or something) can be seen down the scope when the trigger is pulled. I have inserted the receiver box into port 2 on my PAL megadrive.

The megadrive is obviously receiving something. The menu are erratic, and the game thinks I am pulling the trigger when I have not. Sometimes a warning about distance and/or brightness appears. I am about 2 metres from the TV (limited by room space) and the brightness is up full (and yes it's a CRT). First instinct was to move all infra-red devices away from the play area. I notice the remote control interferes, for example. No joy.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

The CRT is 100Hz, I bet this is the problem.
