Sega Multi-mega, the European equivalent of the US Sega CDX. Plays both Mega Drive & Mega CD games...
i thought there was some kind of big thing with the multimegas not being compatible with the 32x..at least here in the states.....could be wrong
MultiMega's are not really rare, at least in Europe. There is one up for auction at almost all times on EBay. I wanted one and found a good deal after a week. I paid ~85€ for a boxed set + 5 games. tubo
That was because the combined systems breached regulations about how much interfence was emitted thanks to so many processors being close together. They are compatible, but it's advisable to use the metal RF shielding clips when doing so to minimise any possible risk.
there are two multimegas for sale in my local Gamestation, if iirc they were £49 boxed. I've always fancied one, along with a snes, as I missed that generation... sure i got to play them often cos I had friends with the megadrive and friends with the snes but I never owned either. I asked santa for a snes back in the day but the fat ba***** got me an Amiga 600.. A SIXHUNDRED! which had no numeric pad which meant no deluxe paint >:O!!! Stupid santa ._.
If they're boxed, £49 is a bargain. They've been around £70-£80 loose whenever I've seen 'em in Gamestation.
I bought a Sega Multimega with Shining Force CD (!) and NHL 94 for like 3 £ (50 Swedish kronor) on a flea market. Everything was in great condition, but the box was missing The deal of my life Picture of my Multimega, taken the day I bought it: http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload6/Multimega.JPG http://upl.silentwhisper.net/uplfolders/upload2/Shining_Force_CD.JPG
Gamestation give you £105 trade in on Multimega so if they do have em for £49 boxed get em & trade one in & keep one!!!
