I have seen guides on modding a Nomad rechargable battery pack with a new battery, but I only have the normal battery pack that came with the console and the rechargeable ones are quite expensive. Does anyone know of a suitable battery that will fit inside the normal case or of any guides for modding the normal pack?

You have to cut out a lot of plastic. Also need to take out all the springs and wires that held in the AA's.

Then you need to remove the new Lithiums from the camcorder battery. Put them in the Nomad AA pack, wire them in and add a charging jack.

A little more work but I do it all the time.

You could just use some rechargeable AA batteries, and either build a charging station that plugs into the battery pack's ports, or you could add an extra port onto the battery pack for an AC adapter. Or you could just charge them normally.

Eh better than a completely dead battery pack.

I think it is your guide for modding the rechargable pack that I have read. I already have the battery, but I didn't want to open it up and make a mess of it without knowing for certain if the mod was achievable.
    Thanks for your input.

A few years ago I bought 4 NOS "Battery Backs" (built in battery) off ebay. Old mate sends me 6 of them. "Great!" I say. Thing is now they are in Australia, shipping them OUT of here makes them expensive.

I have completed the mod. It was very easy and works great. I had to glue the power jack in using epoxy resin to give a firm hold. Thanks for your help.
