Sega Radica cart slot 3.3V & 5V questions

I've seen that it's possible to add a cart slot. But the system it's 3.3v and the cart is 5v. If I supply 5v to the cart, is it safe use resistors on the data and addresses lines (simmilar to everdrive)?
