    i would say

    NEO____SAT
    A_______A
    B_______B
    C_______X
    D_______Y

That way you keep the "square" used on neo geo cd controllers.

There is one for a PlayStation controller to Neo Geo. It also allows a rapid fire when you use the R trigger button in combination with triangle/square/x/circle. I know it is not specifically what you asked for but I figured I would throw it out there.

For those of you interested in this, Lemony Vengeance over at Neo-Geo.com is making me a custom adapter. He may actually sell them if enough people are interested.

It varies depending on how he's able to get the parts and the shipping, but if he gets enough people interested, he'll "mass produce" them and sell them in a more retail-like fashion. Maybe.

But I don't want to speak for him. Send him a message over there if you are interested.
