    Here's a strange one.

I recently tried plugging in the 3D controller into my Model 1 Saturn controller port 1, and couldn't get it to function. It just doesn't work. I know that the controller is not broken because it works on Port 2. So something is messed up with Port 1.

I've taken a look inside and checked for broken traces and verified continuity, all checked out fine. I've also measured the 5v line on pin 1 and it checks out as well.

The motherboard version I have is VA 0.8 and looks similar to this where the controller circuit is built into the board (no add-on board with ribbon cable):

Anyone know what else I should try to get this fixed?

Anyone have any pointers to what else I can check?

I had this issue before. I grabbed some 99% alcohol and cleaned the contacts on both the port and controller.

Also might be worth mentioning that you could use a dental tool and pull down the contacts a bit on the console as to "re-tension" them. But be very careful you can damage your system.

    Hopefully these tips help!

Thanks man! I thought I cleaned it enough but I re-did it with a more extensive cleaning of the port pins and it now works.

Had to remove the port to really get in there for a deeper clean.

    Thanks for the help!
