You could just get the mod done with the modern replacements.

You hold reset button to put it in the mode you want. It will stay in that mode until you change it (even between power offs)

Yours sounds like something done before that came around.

Oh. What's the significance of that label then? Other Saturns don't have anything there.

Ah, OK. I take it that all Saturns are the same quality regardless of who manufactured it?

My experiences as well. Makes me hesitant to sell a Sanyo based Saturn with a modchip in it due to user stupidity with not following instructions. I've also found people pass consoles off to others and then they think its broken because it doesn't work exactly like how they've invented it inside their head. Into the bin it goes.

Good to know, I've only come across two Sanyo based Saturns so far with most being 64 pin models.

What I meant to say was non-Sanyo 64 pin boards. As far as I'm aware there are 32 pin, 64 pin and Sanyo model 2 Saturns. My understanding may very well be incorrect.

Sorry to bump this thread, but i came across someone selling a V-Saturn RG-JX1. No box, instructions or the original controller (comes with 3 3rd party controllers), but looks in great condition. Also has some games and STKey cart.

Is it like any other model 1 Sega Saturn or it has some differences worth knowing? From this topic, i guess it's the same thing with a different Bios and case. But i don't know much about Saturns really.
