    Hello all,

Having some trouble with my Saturn system.

I've only ever used it to play the 1 import game I have. Using a "Sega Satellite", never had any issues.

Taking the machine out a year or so ago, seemed the Satellite cart was sketchy. Picked up a brand new one last week.
Insert cart and game disc, all I get is "Game unsuitable for system".

Tried cleaning contacts with eraser on old cart. Have tried wedging a piece of paper in between cart and machine slot. No avail.
Even replaced 2032 lithium battery - still same error.

So, any ideas/tips? Repair or replace?

Sounds like the cart (or the slot) is dodgy. Probably easiest to modify the machine, either with a switch or a multi-region BIOS.

+1, the cart's not kicking in.

If you want to give the current cart one more bash, clean the cart's contacts with isopropyl alcohol and try again. The Saturn's cart slot is notorious for being a pain in the arse, and the lack of a tapered edge on the carts by third parties apparently don't help either.

Do a BIOS replacement or install a three-way switch to get around the issues. I've been doing that since the 90s when the 4MB games came out and I only had a 1MB multi-cart, shame I'd mangled the slot a bit by that time though!!
