Is there a special Sega Saturn console made for their kiosks? Or are there kiosk demo discs for the Saturn?
no, they are normal Saturn consoles and there are many demo discs or at least in Japan and the UK there were. Not sure about the US but I guess it would be the same there. Yakumo
Were the Japanese and UK demo discs you speak of specifically for the kiosk? Or are there any special kiosk discs?
So, does the reset just work like, hitting all buttons at once or something? I goess I don't understand why the controllers plug into a separate board that the reset also is into.
There is a reset button that hooks up to the board. For the reset button to reset the Saturn, there is a cable that connects from the board to controller port 1 on the Saturn system(has to be port 1.) So that takes up one controller port, which is the reason there are two controller ports on the board(so two people can use the two controllers). http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23384 http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25554
No, they'd work on any Saturn. Japanese demo discs work on any japanese Saturn and the same for UK discs. I have quite a few of the Japanese ones over on my site in the Saturn section - www.segagagadomain.com
That's about what I'd imagined, but I was more concerned about the signal/digital side of the process, if someone knows the specifics.
I posted some recommendations in the other thread (to keep the relative information together). Regarding the demo disc, if anyone remembers playing a specific game on a Saturn kiosk, that would help narrow it down.
I apologize, I didn't realize at first that there was more than one thread, and got mixed up! *bows back*
