If you never seen the list, check it out:

    http://www.rvgfanatic.com/7443/177001.html

That page highlights #'s 50-41, the rest you can field for yourself on the index.

Sega Saturn Magazine was one fine mag... in my opinion, the best ever. Their quality even beat out Super Play...

Thoughts on their top 50 list? Remember, PAL releases only and had to be release by Dec 97 to qualify for the list

I assumed I would be familar with all of the games on the list, since I thought I had played(or atleast known about) all of the saturn's "greatest" games, but after reading that I'm very interested in Space Hulk and Enemy Zero.

For some reason(can't remember why, maybe the god awful covers did it) I'd always written off both of those games as being nothing worth playing, I'm not so sure about that now.

So thanks for the link! I've been on a saturn kick for a week or so, and this just means it probably won't be ending any time soon.

Space Hulk is shit from what I remember. The fact that it's a PAL only list isn't even worth looking at since we all know many of the great Saturn titles are Japanese only.

That what I thought too, I never played it though, but all the people who played it say it was crap.

Where is Thunder Force V in that list? His list is only based on PAL games?

That King of Fighter PAL looks really sweet with the RAM Cart.

For sure. I didn't know the RAM cart was released outside Japan. Someone know if it is somewhat rare?

It is a ROM cart specific to KOF95 (like the ROM cart for the jpn version).
The European version of KOF95 is not common but not so rare. You can get it for 45 Eur approx.

Yep, released in Japan under the same name:

Enemy Zero controls bad IMO, strange really. Haven't played much into it due to the "on rails" portions of the game.

its actually funny about that memory ram cart for saturn, for king of fighters series on saturn, many claims that you need specific KOF ram cart in order to play them, yet they are working fine, though semi-randomly on my 4 in 1 cart, weird...

I bet KOF '95 won't. That game requires the original cartridge because many of the character animation frames are stored on it. The other KOF games just load data in to the RAM of the cartridge then access it when needed. There are only 2 games that require dedicated cartridges for the Saturn, The King Of Fighters '95 and a very poor Ultraman game. All others will work with either the 1 MB or 4 MD cartridges or in some caes, both..

You mean to say there are Saturn games in your collection that you haven't played? hehe!

At least both are more playable than Return Fire ;-)

To clear things up, King Of Fighters '95 needs the ROM cartridge for its background data. In fact, the character sprites and sounds are stored on the CD - not the other way around!

I know a way to find out  just take out the cartridge when a match loads up. if the character sprites are corrupt then we know what was on the cartridge. Simple really.
