Are the ones with the timing crystal still widespread then? Those are a godsend for those of us who are useless with a soldering iron, because you can pretty much attach the wire to the power with electric tape, making is essentially solderless. Not the best way of doing it of course, but my modded Saturn has been going strong for 6 years using this method.

UPDATE: The first set of chips I had on hand have gone on sale in the Buy and Sell forum. 5 boards have already been spoken for. 5 boards remain. If your in a hurry for a board, now is the time. The rest of the boards should be arriving several weeks later if all goes well.

Hehe, time to get jiggy with the L.A. Heres a screen grab from the PALCE connections on one of the later style mods.

    Things found out so far:

The Data MPX line is filtered through an RC setup to create a frame trigger.

The PLD is used to clock the MCU. You can see where it pauses the MCU clock to synchronise where it injects the subcodes.

When enabled the PLD by default clocks out the standard "A8-59" to simulate the security ring. The MCU feeds the pld with a 4 bit bus and an enable line to supply the extra data.

    More to follow...

Don't think I won't come up there if I can't get at least one of these!

So, given the slowdown in requests for these it would seem that demand is fairly satisfied. I guess it's job done and call it a day? (^_^); I'm under the impression that there isn't a great need to get any additional supplies. <shrug>

I'd buy 5-6 now but I have to take care of some things first.

I did notice the barebones chip you sent me had been built with the idea of a 20 pin connector in mind. Wonder how hard it would be to pop on a connector for use in a Model 1.
