    Hi!

I am new to the forum. I've read some threads here and there but I decided to register today after I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iveyeLJkNAg which describes exactly what I am trying to accomplish and the author wrote on his webpage that this is a good place to get help.

I bought the chip a while back but I haven't gotten around to installing it until today. The Saturn I have I got cheap without cables and I have actually never had a game running on it since I don't have any retail discs. The seller told me it was working fine though and the Wii I picked up at the same time works well.

I started out by following this guide: http://www.robwebb1.plus.com/saturn/saturnchipguide_2.htm and identified the Saturn I have as the one on the bottom (joypad PCB, no white line). So I figured this has to be the 0014 (old) version.

I proceeded to install the chip and got the "Disc unsuitable for this system" every time. I then found the video I linked at the top and re-did the solders again. But the problem remains. Here are some images of what it looks like right now (I had issues uploading to the site so I am using my DropBox):https://www.dropbox.com/s/ja70dcgu0le6dy4/2014-06-07 22.23.16.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/8fjeuwqgnuo1ios/2014-06-07 22.23.34.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/elhw20hheczyh6t/2014-06-07 22.23.45.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/8o205xjke00nzyq/2014-06-07 22.30.00.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/e7ucfgy4hhaygtf/2014-06-07 22.30.06.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/m2wqxo8oswqtccw/2014-06-07 22.37.52.jpg

I came across this small guide for troubleshooting but I can't fit my situation to any of the issues listed. http://www.segastyle.com/troubleshoot.html
In my case it is like this:Boot up animation
Two green cubes at the CD player screen
    CD
    rotates
    Displays "
    Disc unsuitable for this system"
Will not play audio tracks of CD-Rs and no information on originals

I think the installation looks fine so I am wondering what I can do next? Could it be the games being burnt the wrong way? I have tried Mortal Combat 2 (US) and Exhumed (PAL) so far. But I don't feel like making any more coasters.

Can I meassure the resistance between points to get any information?

Here is a video of the Saturn booting up with the mod chip installed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2bpwtd56hv4shyq/2014-06-07 22.46.01.mov

Help in resolving this matter will be greatly appreciated.
