Bought a broken saturn a while ago and finally got around to getting a new laser for it. I removed the anti-static solder blob and put the new laser in, however it's reading all my games as audio cds. I would really appreciate any help from you guys!

    Things I've tried:
    - Turning Pot very slightly clockwise, new laser pot is reading 657 from the factory
    - Raising and lowering spindle
    - Reseated all ribbon cables multiple times
    - Cleaned Laser

Not sure what else it could be :(

Did you tried backups on your console or originals?
Because some Saturn models 2 from what I've read don't read backups at all and the console show them as audio you need to mod it somehow.

those aftermarket lasers are poor crap. 4 out of 5 dont work at all.
the shipped ohm readings indicate that dont tested them at all, because none of them worked for me with the shipped settings.
they hardly read at around 400-350 ohms on my side and thats way too low setting to have them last long.
