I,am looking for a good tutorial to mod my MODEL 1 Sega Saturn so it can use a 50/60Hz switch.
I already googled a lot and found a lot of tuts but none of them are really clear for what models the mod is intended.

i have looked at the on mmmonkey explains because i know he has some good tuts on his site but i not found if it is the right one for my console.
because i hear about the "simple" switch that uses the SW1 with only 2 solder points and a switch and i,am done but at that location my Saturn only has solder pads called SW4.
so now i don,t know if i have to lift up leg 79 of the GPU or not?

i have some pictures of my console maybe they help to identify what tutorial i should follow

That SW1 port by the battery compartment is directly linked to leg 79 on the GPU. I modded a PAL Saturn using SW1 no issue.

Lifting the leg is the universal solution that works for every model. Connect the lifted leg to the center of the switch and the two other pins to GND and 5V. That'll work :)

But you can do better than that. Bad_ad84 sells kits for switchless 50/60Hz, and region-free BIOS'es so you don't even have to cut anywhere in the case, for a truly universal Saturn.

thanks for the reply,s @segata : its a model that has no SW1 it has an SW4 located at that location but i have read that it would be possible to just use the SW4 like the SW1 and colder the middle pins to a switch and that should work but others say you have to lift a pin other then pin 79 when i use this option. @bearking : ok so lifting the leg is a 100% sure way to get 50/60 hz? i think ill first try the SW4 with out the leg lifted if this does not work i think ill go for the lifting the leg 79 advise and thanks for the link but i think those mods are a bit out of my league :( and i payed alot for the console so i don,t want to ruin my only saturn by my own hands because i,am just not skilled enough i think to desolder the old bios and solder in a new one in.

You don't need to lift the GPU leg.

Sorry I got the points mixed up, it was SW4. If you tried a continuity test with a multimeter you'd see one of the point leads to leg 79.
