Sega Saturn PAL - With Modchip - Plays only Japanese Games?

Hell there,

i have a question. A few yeard ago i bought a German PAL Sega Saturn with a Modchip in it. The seller told me that the Chip or whatever is so that i only can Play Japanese originals and Japanese Backups. And yeah.. thats true.. Tested it last week.. and the PAL System only Plays NTSC/J original and Backups.

So dou you have a clue why i cannot Play PAL or NTSC/U Games on the modded console?

It is also not a switchles mod or so.. change the region with reset and so on.. that does not work..

If you have any clues for me.. that would be helpful.

I used many types of Saturn, first one I used Played backups by assistance of a catridge in the catridge slot and original game, first play the backup i think, it goes to menu then says put original, put original and reset, then it says put your game which works, boring but played everything..

as for mod chips I remember that some of them allowed you to play multi region only by assistance of a catridge , so you might need that 4 in 1 action reply, anyway wait for more replies to confirm that

 

Modchip only allows backups. A region change/mod/region free bios allows different region - backup or original..

Sounds like someone's changed the region jumpers to jap and installed a modchip.

Install a switchless region mod or a region free bios. (or get an action replay)
