You might have missed it, but I think the auction explains it well. It goes with a word processing suite for Saturn. See that "EGWORD" Disc. That's the Word Processor software...combine that with KB...and a floppy drive...blam...you've got yourself a Saturn based word processor setup.

It's like the eighties all over again. I'd love one of these, just for the "Commodore 64" value of it. Too bad it doesn't run basic, though. I'd love to see one of these working, interface and all.

Also, are cartridges still made for that printer? Is that printer also PC Compatible?

I may have a brand new one on it's way to me next week if everything goes well. If I get it I'll let you know more about it.

  6. Yeah, it's just a bog standard Canon printer with a parallel port. The special bit is that little box pictured below that goes between the Saturn and the printer.

I think the Sega PriFun is way cooler. That can print anything form a composite video input. I always wanted to have a PriFun, Picture Magic and Digio camera--an all in one Sega printshop! Actually, *I* don't particularly want all that crap, but it would be cool if someone else had it and I could play around with it every once in a while. I think the PriFun uses some kind of wanky proprietary thermal paper or something, though, so eventually you'd run out of that and not be able to find anymore and then all your fun would be over.

Now I just realized I have that cable that connects the Saturn to the printer and I just got it for free :p

I'll be getting my Saturn EGG printer set in a few days so I'll have a play with it over the weekend. It's brand new as well in the original box. God knows where I'm going to store it though :(

Last time you showed pics, you still had some room under that trap door...

Somehow i imagine your house is like a big videogame piniata... Someday it'll pop and saturn games will be flying everywhere!

Not sure if this is based on the same system, but I have a Pokemon Print Club setup running off a ST-V Titan board with image-capture board, camera, and a SONY dye sublimation video printer that takes composite input. No thermal paper, but it did come pre-scored for peeling off stickers.

I thought it was interesting that Koei developed the actual word processor software for this setup. Bit of a departure from their usual strategy offerings like Nobunaga's Ambition and Dynasty Warriors games.

Ditto. I love Koei games as well.
That's what initially caught my eye.

Going to renew this thread, as I saw another piece of hardware which seemed to be a printer interface and video digitiser, it seemed to interface to the Sega Digio camera and allow you to insert photos into your documents before you print them out, anyone know much more about it?

Had that as well. All it is an early drawing pallet. Nothing too special about it apart from it seems to be made up of 32X parts plus the cartridges are the same shape as 32X carts.

Nope I know the item you are talking about but this is just an interface for the Sega Saturn for the said printer with an updated software package and some leads to allow you to connect up the camera to the interface.

    Hmmm, sounds vaguely familiar.

Just wondering instead of bringing back an almost 1 year old topic why not just make a new one about the specific device you are asking about?
