Sega Saturn problems - No video, no audio

Hi everyone, I found this site from google searching a problem I'm having with my Sega Saturn.

First off the problem. It's a model 1 PAL system with a VA0 board and what's happening is when I turn it on, I get no video or audio on the TV (TV does acknowledge a signal though) and the disc does spin and leds light up, etc.

Secondly, the history. I have been modding systems for many years and decided to do the 50/60Hz and region mod on it a while ago, like 4-5 years ago using switches and it was successful. The system worked flawlessly after that. I boxed it up not long after and haven't touched it since. I took it out the other day as I wanted to install the ultimate switchless mod. Every existing point on the board from the previous mod job I could use for the new mod, but when I went to test it, no go. Only thing I regret not doing was to test the system before starting so I don't know if it was dead beforehand or something went awry with the new install. I also tried totally removed the mod and tested again, still no video or audio.

Can Saturns just die like that from being boxed up? I mean the system is close to 20 years old so the problem could be due to age, I'm just a bit peeved as I wanted to sell it. Any suggestions?

Cool, thanks for the suggestion. I just gave it a go and still the black screen. I might solder in the switchless mod again and give it another go.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post that the system was stored WITHOUT a battery as I didn't want it leaking.
