Hello Everyone, I have recently aquired a sega saturn and want to have a crack at replacing the BIOS with a region free BIOS, I have the MX chips and a programmer and have done dreamcast ones before but i have a few questions when it comes to the sega saturn bios. I know there are a few models of the sega saturn, Model 1 and 2. and the Hi-Saturn and the JVC/Victor V-Saturn. My question is what region free bios's do i need to use for Model 1, Model 2 etc... is this one universal for all saturns and all revisions etc... http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/sega-saturn-region-free-bios/
Awesome thank you, so do you have a zip folder with the bios files? USA v1.00a, USA v1.01a Japan v1.00, Japan v1.01 EUR v1.00a, EUR v1.01a Hi-Saturn v1.01, Hi-Saturn v1.02, GameNavi Hi-Saturn v1.03 V-Saturn v1.00, V-Saturn v1.01 Samsung Saturn v1.02
Check it out: https://assemblergames.com/threads/sega-saturn-region-free-bios.33602/page-26#post-953914 (I will have to try this out sometime this year - for now I am using my Pseudo Saturn Kai carts.)
I thought I would reply here instead of making a new post. I have a va 0.5 and bought a region free bios. Do I need to wire anything differently or is it a exact swap. The mmmonkey page only covers the smd bios not the 40 pin boos in the older consoles.
