    Hi there,
1st time poster here, but have been lurking for a while! :)

So, today I went to play on my 21 Pin model 2 Saturn.
It turned on fine, but after switching off and on back again, it powers on (the green light is present) but there is no sound, video, and the cd drive does not spin.
I have ordered a new scart cable but not sure if it is related...

I am no expert by any means, and was wondering if someone could recommend a repair service located in UK where I could send it for repairing possibly....

    Many thanks in advance!

You'd be best off getting a whole new console. That sounds like the mainboard died. If you are looking for a Japanese Model 2, I am selling one refurbished.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm in the UK.
It seems it really is the mainboard that went kaput....
I am looking to find anyone that can repair it or might have spare parts for it...
If I can't find anyone, I will definetely consider buying a new console!

No worries. Good luck finding a mainboard, that'll be a chore. I'll help look, too.

Sucks when the mainboard goes. I have a bunch of refurbished JP Saturns but alas I am in the USA :/ You could try replacing all the capacitors on the mainboard but honestly, you are better off spending $20 on ebay to get a console with a dead laser you can swap parts with.

just make sure you confirm with the seller that there is good video output before bidding ;) Sometimes they are a little shady in how they "leave out" important details. I had one seller say that his saturn die when there was a lightning storm but was fine before that. Turns out it had a dead laser and that was complete BS.

There are quite a few saturn motherboard versions and combinations of drive.

You should aim to get the same version as your existing motherboard, this can be worked out by the serial number

Also, the buttons from the top. Almost all the saturns in the US can be figured out that way, since there's only 2 main CD boards that work with all the mobos as far as I know. The Sanyo is the odd man out, and it's a stinker of a CD drive anyway.
