Sega Saturn SHADE 3 LIGHT?

I'd have to check. There's a dongle in the paper bag in front of the floppies.

It may have just been a plug-in for Shade.

As in, in order to use this you needed to already own the full version. This could have just added support for the Saturn quads to the main program.
