Sega Saturn Sophia SH-2 POD for Hitachi E7000/E7000PC ICE

    Just posting this here because I'd never seen one in such detail before. This is the correct SH-2 POD that fits atop a PGA (pin grid array) socket inside the Sega Saturn Sophia Programming Box.

    The model number is HS7604EPD70H.

    I acquired these images from a seller on Tao Bao (see my thread in want to buy if you happen to have one of these PODs; I was too late to purchase this particular item from Tao Bao :().

    Interesting, the number of Toshiba chips inside given it's a Hitachi product; I'd assumed they were rivals in the chip industry in the 90s. I've highlight the faint Hitachi labelling on the PCB on this upper side view.

    This POD inserts into a stack of sockets (my own PGA sockets shown in fourth image), which plug into the main board of the Sophia. Overview of connections shown in page from one of my manuals (fifth image).
