I have an white Japanese Saturn. There's no start animation with bootup sound, it just shows the Saturn logo (as if I had pressed Start to skip the animation) and then freeze. I can reach the time and date if i take out the battery. I really have no clue what could be wrong?
Have you tried a different controller or even disconnect the controller to see if that changes anything?
Dirt on the motherboard, it's a weird issue but that's what happened with my Model 2. Druid can confirm this too, he knows heaps on the Saturn.
same problem without the controller inserted. I already cleaned the motherboard with tops and alcohol. Maybe i shall try to clean it with water and soap and let it dry for some days?
i have the motherboard with an separate board for the controller ports. If it was working shall it boot with the controllerboard disconnected?
i have been cleaning everything a second time with air and alcohol but i get the same freeze every time? strange, cant find any broken traces or broken capacitors
