This is actually a really rare find. Keyboard/Floppy/Modem are all extremely common compared to the actual software and printer converter. $90 or so is probably a great price.

But tell me: what do you want to do with it?Use it instead of MS Word or put it somewhere where the dust can settle on it?

The same reason most people want "shit" like this -- they're fans of the system, and like collecting for it. Since when has collecting had anything to do with how good/useful something is?

    .

It's interesting in the perspective to Sega's plan on Saturn.
What I heard Sega tried to push its Saturn as home entertainment system that can also be used other than gaming....
We all heard this story before and know what happened... Even mighty(?) SONY failed to make any serious mark with its latest PSX...

maybe that's why Sega made all sorts of weird stuff for domestic market...

In fact I'll be getting a similar setup MIB soon.
It's the one my relative bought long time ago and when asked she agreed to exchange it for some PAL DC titles that I had lying around. :)
For some strange reason she still uses her MSX2+ wapro saying it's convenient...

    cheers

  7. Hell, if it lets me double-space things and screw with font sizes, I'd be laughing all the way to school as I went to turn in a term paper written on my Sega Saturn! :smt043 :smt040

    .

    Now that's an idea. :)

thing is I graduated long time ago... :)

    cheers

  9. Say, and on a weird note, does anyone think the W logo on that CD case looks like the logo of MS Word on Macintosh?

    .

thought that's the same company that made EGWord for Mac running KanjiTalk.
I used have copy around before Mac moved to multilingual system. :)

I'm fairly certain one of Mac at the garage still has KanjiTalk 7.1 installed as there were H games that only works on that environment.... :p

    cheers

A Printer + Word processing software isn't interesting and neither something special for me,so not worth collecting in my opinion. Also I just collect stuff I like/use.

I have heard there were actually several word processor sets for Saturn, and I recall Koei making one :smt017

Lets not forget about that Saturn SMC reader & photo editor, Netlink, Photo CD operator, VCD card, and the Electronic Book operator - anyone got info on that one?

The interface would be nice to have, after all nothing says you have to connect it to a printer.

Does the dreamcast support printer like saturn?

Hokman - there is no software like that for the dreamcast, everybody got a PC to print stuff, maybe it wasn't like that in the saturn age,who knows ;-)

Is the interface an USB interface?

There's a printer set for the PS2 though. Pretty sure it's made by Canon.

No, it's a normal Centronics parallel port. Kaneda has a better picture of it. Dunno what the other ports are good for (serial device daisychaining like the C64?)

  18. Well, there are interesting stuff to collect, but i think that the people that don´t love Saturn wouldn´t be interested in that... :smt015
