It's official SEGA's finally bringing a Hatsune Miku Project Diva game to the western gaming market, bout time this series got some western love .

 

Good news. Not a fan of the game, but still, good news.

 

They should bring over Space Harrier 3D on 3DS instead of this crap.

so it's a rithm game... what made it so famous in the west and all over the net?

 

I assume it was the Vocaloids themselves that made this series famous virtually everywhere, that and the gameplay looks pretty challenging.

 

The characater is really famous.

I've never seen a game of this franchise, but in the anime conventions a lot of girls cosplay this character.

Maybe it's cool and I don't know. But I'm not really into trendy things. For example I don't understand why Guitar Hero was called "good" at any moment in history.

 

These games are huge in Japan and lots of fans have wanted them to come to the US. Whats weird is they are releasing it on ps3. Hatsune Miku has mosly been a portable game franchise starting on psp and on Vita. Why not just port the Vita version to US, it certainly needs the games. This is a good sign from Sega though that they are at least bringing the series to the west.

Hatsune Miku is who/what is popular. 'She' actually plays live, sold-out concerts all over Japan (and even came to Anime Expo in the US a couple of years ago).

They set up huge, transparent video screens on the stage (like big pieces of glass), and project her image dancing around on the stage singing (using Vocaloid, basically a computer-generated voice) with a real live band doing the music... There's videos of it on YouTube, just search 'hatsune concert'. It's insanely popular in Japan (at least, I assume it still is..)

 

I checked the game out. My one sentence review: "It's like playing a simplified Guitaroo Man and that idol mini game thing in Yakuza 4 at the same time."

 

Is there a special controller for this? There's no way you can push some of those button sequences so fast on a regular DS3.
