well, i've just finishing the mod to my xbox (waiting for evo-x to be installed), and whilst looking on the motherboard there are actually 4 ram areas with only 2 installed chips, so if it were possible to get 128mb or higher modules (they are custom types), then you could put in 512mb or more even, but obviously, those things aint going to be easy (if at all) to track down. Rich
And there's another 2 RAM chips on the bottom of the board. With blank RAM positions on the opposite side of each chip, 2 on top, 2 on the bottom. Xbox uses 4 16mb chips. Which is why the 128 upgrade is sooo dificult, surface monting 4 chips with about 100 legs each. On another note, if a specially written version of the Cromwell Bios existed, that could support 512mb of ram (currently only supports 64 or 128mb) you could probably install GentooX or Xebian Linux on the Chihiro. Bwahahahaha edit: d'oh. no hdd!! But surely it would have been more cost efficient for the Chihiro games to run stright off hdd???
xbox debug Doesn't the debug kit Xbox have the 128 MB RAM in it already? Try useing an debug kit with it then...
