No words, just images. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seiken Densetsu 4 looks pretty bad. I posted about this at Japanese Gaming a few weeks ago. Has some other images of Children of Mana as well.
im sooo looking forward to children of mana. not too excited about the 3d-aproach of sd4, though, probably because the 2d seiken densetsus bring back so many good childhood memories. it just doesnt look right imho. i feel that something similar to legend of mana, but with an extensive storyline like sd2 and 3 had would be most awesome.
Can someone put this series in order chronologically for me? And translate the names of the U.S. ones, please? This series looks interesting, and I want to get into it, but I dont know which game is which. I know of Secret of Mana, Legend of Mana, Sword of Mana, Secret of Evermore, but the Seiken parts confused me.
Secret of Evermore isn't part of the serie. Seiken Densetsu, first of his name, was suposed to be released on FDS on multiple discs. They canned it on Game boy, wich was Renamed as Final Fantasy Adventure for the US market, To have better sales. Seiken Densetsu 2 Is Secret Of Mana. Seiken Densetsu 3 Was Never released in the states, For no apparent reason since Secret of Mana made well in america, they said the american market needed something ''more american'', so they made Secret of Evermore especially for the US. Though it's a pretty good game, alot of Fans wanted to see the real ''sequel'' of the game here. Every Seiken game have the same world, but Secret of Evermore wasn't based on that world. It has been translated to English by many fans Now. Sword Of Mana is a remake of Seiken Densetsu (or Final Fantasy Adventure). Legend of Mana And the New DS title have no number. There's no connection between the Titles, from what i know, But that new DS game seems to be connected with Secret of Mana. For those who played Secret of Mana, Just look at the Third Screen... Hope that it helps. Great Serie, I'm glad to see it back.
So for US games ( I have the Seiken III translated rom, BTW) I need to get. Sword of Mana (1st technically) Secret of Mana Legend of Mana World of Mana Seiken Densetsu IV Ok, thanks Cahaz!
I really don't mind the 3D aspect of the new Seiken Densetsu. While I'm a 2D fanboy, when done right, 3D can be good. I just hope they stay true to the SD line and don't add weird stuff like they did to Legend of Mana and Sword of Mana. I also hope there's a three player mode as well. Children of Mana looks awesome. I can't wait to play it. I really hope there's some wireless Internet play too! I too like Evermore. I didn't when I got it, but later on I came to appreciate it.
Here's something you may not see anywhere else on the net. A flyer for Seiken Densetsu ( the first one, on the GB) Click me. This is also a series I've wanted to try out, but haven't had the time. I tried Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu on the GBA (I forgot the US name) but there was too much dialogue for me to enjoy in my 20-30 minute bursts of handheld play on the train. I lost it, and never bought another one. EDIT: I never read this before, but apparently the story is in 5 parts, of which the GB release is the first. That's what the flyer says anyway.
Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu is Sword of Mana, which is a remake of the first Seiken Densetsu. Quite confusing, this series is.
Dont worry, if they keep up the combat way in 3D you can be 100% sure the game wont loose playability! ^^
This was for the FDS project, wich was on 5 disks. You can see 4 screenshots of the game at the left of the picture, and we know that you cannot do something like that on the GB. Edit:You can even see the ''disc System'' logo on the Upper left corner.
Pardon my ignorance, but is the top game SD4 for PS2? I can see the DS one, but what about the bottom 3 images, what are they from? ta
i don't know if it's for ps2, but yeah, the first screens are from the new home console seiken. The others, below the line, are from the DS game.
Yeah, that is indeed the flyer for the FDS version, not the Gameboy. I thought I had a Gameboy one around somewhere. That's gotta be somewhat valuable toa Square Enix fanboy.
"Final Fantasy" Mystic Quest is a SNES title in the US, and has a pretty bad rep. Seiken Densetsu was Final Fantasy adventure in the US. Man, Square really likes the name Final Fantasy... BTW, how many Final Fantasy legends were made? I have the first one for the GB and its name is "The Final Fantasy Legend", and I know there are probably at least two more. Are these games original or are they taken from other games?
there's 3 Final Fantasy Legend. I'm not sure, but i think they're named romancing saga in japan (yeah, The romancing saga), they changed the name for Final Fantasy Legend for the Us market.
