    1) Bank account or credit/debit/pre-paid card which can be linked to PayPal would be the easiest way to receive and send payments.

    2) You could go through the UK's national post service, or through private couriers (notice that private couriers will be more expensive).

    3) On the postal service's website (be it national post service or private couriers) you have an online tool for figuring out shipping costs, where you set the place and type of shipping and then input the weight of your stuff and it gives you a quote. Alternately, you could go to your local post office to weight your stuff.

    Cheers!

Yes, of course, thing is, private couriers are much more fast and secure (but much more expensive as well).

Don't worry so much about DHL, I personally think it is an issue with having a 3rd party like Parcel2go.com involved. I've pointed out mistakes in their address system as soon as items are being shipping out of the UK and they have not taken those points on-board.

If however you use Interparcel you have a choice of couriers / prices. DHL via IP has not had the same issue, mainly because the shipping abroad system for IP works better.

Do you have a Nintendo Wii? Do you have Wii Fit? Then you have a decent set of scales to figure out the weight of larger objects.

However, the dimensions of items going abroad tend to be all you need and a guess at how heavy an item is. Most console boxes have a weight printed somewhere on them. Either that or you can look online at specs and use those weights.

Don't let my DHL / Parcel2go.com issues put you off. This is the one and only time I've had problems of this nature in 10 years of selling on the likes of eBay etc.

Oh, and it tends to be cheaper to send parcels using a courier than the Post Office in a great many instances.

I always just use the post office because I'm lazy. >_>

But anything more than 2KG costs £8.22. :/ And after 4KG you get charged an extra £2 per KG or something like that.

Side question: the past 2-3 things I've shipped (one to Germany, oddly) have been quoted on DHL's website at ~$70-90. UPS/Fedex at ~20-30, and USPS very slightly lower than the latter.
What gives? Am I doing it wrong?
