I would say 2 years is ample to assess damage. One even.

One such example was working nights, out team was denied access to a plane because our "Fishe D`Intervention" or permit to work, was not signed by Quality/Safety inspector. Even thro the plane was safe - no power on/dry fuel tanks. In the Uk most planes have a Board up stating what tests are being carried out and where its ok to work with out having the permit to work.

Or another is wearing bump caps - you can get sacked here for not wearing them - doesnt matter your working in tight spaces where is dam impossible to wear it. In the uk its your choice to wear it.

    35 working hours...

Appropriately for this part of the forum though, by reputation, nobody comes even close to the Japanese in terms of anal retentive. I've had forms where multiple pages have to be signed in multiple places. Like 15 signatures for one stupid thing.

Although they will, on average, clock in close to double 35 hours. How much is work is another story.

Japan, world capital for anal bull shit. Drives you mad, I can tell you. What makes it worse is when you ask why something must be done they can never give an answer because they don't know. Most of the time you get "It's the Japanese way" WTF is that meant to mean?

exactly, while they certainly do the hours they dont do shit while theyre there, it must be a nightmare to be an executve in japan what with contantly having to tell people what their work is and what they should do:DOH:

it always baffles me how someone can think working hard is getting in long hours instead of getting shit done.. the myth that japanese are so efficient is only because theyre 10 people working on a one-man task..

The myth of them being efficient is for people that have never been to a Japanese office. They are well known for being creative when it comes to book keeping and statistics... how much work each one gets done is another story. There are some that truly bust their balls 12 hours a day. There are plenty that stick around until 10PM playing Free Cell b/c they don't want to go home and listen to their wife.
