I have my RGH XBOX 360, which boots into NXE dash all the time and keeps telling me to update. I'm never going to use XBOX Live on this system, so I read about Dashlaunch can change the boot prioities around by an INI. What I'm confused about is how to set it up. Tutorials seems to be all over place, some say "NOT FOR RGH" or whatnot so I'm very unsure on how to go ahead with this. I'm also not sure which information you may require to help me, but I'm willing to share it though. Can anyone help me out?
What dashboard is your rgh on? You can get a app called jrunner, download the latest dashboard in jrunner and create a new updated image with dashlaunch built into it. Download latest dashlaunch 3.10 and install that to the root of your hd. You need your cpukey and the original or rgh NAND on your console to build the new image. You will also need freestyle dash(fsd3) or xexmenu installed on disc or root of your harddrive. It is a alternate hacked dashboard used on rgh/jtags. Use either swizzy's simple NAND flasher or boot to xell reloaded to update your console. You would need your new image(updflash.bin) and xenon.elf file on a USB stick. Pm me and I can help you tonight. I am at work right now.
I have dashboard 2.0.16537.0 - Don't have original NAND sadly, but the person who did the RGH was going to give them to me but he forgot to tell me to bring a Flash Drive :| The weird thing is, when he was showing me the system works, he was able to get the 360 to boot into FSD. He also said something about I need certain files on the ROOT of the Hard Disk, but I'm using one internal.
I'll help you tonight. You just need to install a launch.ini file pointing to hdd1 as root for FSD to boot and run the installer on root of your hd for dashlaunch 3.10. So when you boot it will go straight to FSD. See if you can find FSD3. I'll send you everything tonight if your around. You can also set up all this on a USB stick on your pc first. Just use that and set up launch.ini file to boot FSD to usb1 instead.
Hi Turfster I have a similar problem I hope you can help me... I recently updated my RGH (Trinity) Xbox360 to Kernel "2.0.16767" (I used XeBUILD and this youtube guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7v9d7jaGi4Q) After the Kernel Update, I also applied the KINECT AVATAR UPDATE for 16767 to my XBOX so I can use Kinect again. (I followed this guide: http://www.xbox360iso.com/showpost.php?p=5251367&postcount=5) I am using Freestyle Dash v3 dashboard, but after I updated my kernel to 6767... my XBOX now opens to the NXE Dash by default (official microsoft homescreen). I cannot open my Freestyle Dash anymore. I dont have XEXmenu inside My Games of NXE Dash (I dont know how to install one) So now I can't explore the contents of my RGH XBOX. Previously I was only using the File Explorer that came in with Freestyle Dash to copy files to my XBOX HDD. I also tried manually making a "launch.ini" file (see my launch.ini file below). I put the USB to my XBOX and then I turn it ON. But I still keep ending up in the official Microsoft NXE dashboard. ........ Not sure if this information helps: But When I turn ON my xbox using EJECT button, I am still getting the XELL RELOADED screen, is there a way I can open Freestyle Dash via XELL Reloaded? I dont know what to do... ............ Please help... Thank you in advance.
Put Xexmenu to a flashdrive and with that you can use it to navigate through your files. Furthermore, while in Xexmenu, you can simply copy that shit to your internal hdd, reboot, rescan and boom, it will always be there. I am willing to bet your FSD .ini points to FSD without the extraneous nomenclature (ie- FreestyleRev735) and instead points to whatever installation you have. You can also install the latest Dashlaunch and carefully going through the options, save the .ini and get it to do what you do, or just say fuck it and install Aurora, also the same way. Either way, definitely install Xexmenu to your HDD and also to a flashdrive, or burned to a disc as a last resort recovery option, and no matter what you can recover. And while I might be wrong, I doubt there is a way to boot into FSD or even the presently installed dash from Xell or Xell reloaded. Xell, at least to me, exists as your only way to boot into an N64 emu or as a recovery mechanism. Edit: when you update FSD you are best to delete the old install, power cycle and install fresh. Reboot again, set your scan settings properly and go from there.
