Scanned these docs a while ago,but too busy to make PDF and post them.So I decide to upload in raw scanned picture file now. All documents are in Japanese. All documents are originally in faxed copy(faxed from Japan about 20 yrs ago). There may be personal notes on these paper. They are developer's comments.I think it's better to keep them as is. Part of these documents seems to be used in project of porting Famicom and FDS game to another platform.FDS docs is still in scanning. Doc list: Famicom APU and PPU MMC 1 MMC 3 Konami VRC 2 Konami VRC 6 Hotfile links(All links are direct link,no download interval time limit): https://hotfile.com/dl/251715407/5849c91/NES_APU_AND_PPU.zip.html https://hotfile.com/dl/251713242/c55a9e4/NES_MMC1.zip.html https://hotfile.com/dl/251714604/70cad49/NES_MMC3.zip.html https://hotfile.com/dl/251710892/b584d9e/NES_KONAMI_VRC2.zip.html https://hotfile.com/dl/251712416/5422336/NES_KONAMI_VRC6.zip.html I scanned these docs by myself. But I'm not sure if they are already scanned by other guys.So if there is dupe, please reply and inform me. I'm will scan more docs but may not do it in a short time.(I'm a little busy on my real life job recently). Thanks!
Thanks for point out that carefully. I checked that copy. And yes, there is an blank page there.I used Ricoh Aficio MP C2050 for auto rolling and scanning. So blank pages are not skipped. =)
I also created a thread about this at NesDev you can see all the interesting conversation about these docs here. http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=10611
Thanks Teancum, really happy that docs can be reach by real nes fans and nes dev/emu scene. FDS doc will be uploaded this weekend I think. Then probably I have no more NES/Famicom related doc to contribute. Gameboy dev docs on the go... =)
This is cool, but shouldn't homebrewers stay away from the docs? Could this be industrial espionage (trade secret docs) even with the hardware patents expired, maybe?
Today's homebrewers wouldn't need them, there is much more informative 3rd party documentation now. There actually isn't much in the documents that wasn't already independently reverse engineered 13+ years ago, today we have sort of "absolute documentation" in the form of CPU and PPU die images available for analysis. What the documents might have revealed are the official register names and an explanation of the game "header" which are very much appreciated by me and other OCD types, but not of any functional importance. I hope SONIC3D does eventually scan and publish the rest, the FDS doc in particular could turn out to be more revealing since 3rd party documentation is a little lacking for the RP2C33.
