See I got this new wireless ADSL (Hyperlan/2 rocks) from that shitty provider (which I wont name). Two weeks ago the installed the antenna and the IDO unit on my parent's office PC. Everything worked fine. So I tought great, now I can finally get a LAN at home! I got back home to do the work just to discover those shitty guys use HTML authentication for GLOBAL internet access. You readed it right. HTML authentication. Which means session/based internet access. The heck. No problem for me I thought, i can login. That's ok. So i put a switch right on the IDO and connect from my room with UN/pass that they gaved us, just to discover the "maximum number of users" has been reached. Holy crap. I called them and some kind of vaguely intelligent woman said that "there' no way around". Ok. So I get the contract to see something can be done. No word about this HTML-thingie in it. AT ALL. Now I ask you : do you know of some Router that support HTML authentication? Or will I have to set up a proxy to be able to get my fucked 2 pcs home lan?
The only way I can think of is with a hardware Firewall/Router, possibly something like: http://www.smoothwall.org/ or http://ipcop.org/
Assuming that you are using Windows, you might want to try to setup one computer to use Internet Connection Sharing to share the login. You would then access the internet with the other computer through the one using ICS.
It seems I also shouldn't be on any time resembling the night either. You have no idea how many times I've proof read this!
ICS=Proxy. So I have to set up a proxy for a shittie two PCs lan. NO internet provider I ever heard off before would had been asking for such a shit. NO ONE. Incredible. Another solution would be to get me another UN/P alias, but they wont do that because they are bound to a contract (woohoo). I have to get some way to get theyr CISCO IDO router (already installed the CISCO management on it the first day ;P) to get me some kind of tunneling-html proxy..
