I used to read a magazine called Cube a few years ago, and I was recently flicking through them before throwing them away. It was the magazine that came with GC sized cheat discs and DVD's, and was IMO the best of the GC mags for any of you in the UK who might remember.

Anyway, they had a section where they looked in on the development on a certain game, "Shadow Of The Sun", a game where you played as a Vampire (sounds clichéd) in a sort of Warcraft world, but you could adapt to the enviroment, evolving on what kind of character you are, sort of like Fable. Now this ended up being canned a few years back, but then was brought back by Hothead Studios, where it was changed from RE style camera view, to first person perspective (see the pictures here).

I wondered if anyone knew of any pressed copies because as far as I know it was pretty far on in development, or has a proto of it anywhere?

I bought a copy of Cube once after picking up a boxed GameCube with a load of games for £70 - super-cheap at the time though of course the same deal would cost a lot less these days.

I found the magazine to be incredibly shite. The writers seemed to do their best to act like they were 5 years old and would come up with pointless and irrelevant comments on pointless and irrelevant caption boxes inside pointless and irrelevant articles. They didn't understand the concept of humour, wit or sarcasm and nothing would have given me creater pleasure than to shoot the bloody lot of them in the face at close range.

I didn't even finish reading the magazine before binning it. Buying that magazine was the biggest waste of £2.50-£3.50 I've ever experienced.

There's some new Wii magazine around now 'from the creators of Cube!' apparently. The name of the magazine escapes me but I'd urge anyone with an ounce of brain to check any Wii magazine for the history of its writers before buying it, and if it's from the Cube morons then put it back on the shelf.

Returning to the point of this post of yours, sorry DrMatt but I know nothing of that game. =P

I read Cube a couple of times over its history, I tend not go for that stuff but I actually found Cube's blunt and silly humour kind of endearing. Maybe you caught them on on off issue, or maybe I just caught a rare decent moment, who knows.

I don't know anything about this game, though, sorry DrMat...

Haha I never said it was great, I said it was the 'best of the GC' mags, which isnt saying much

And it seems like no one remembers this, its a shame, if they'd have kept the original viewpoint and the original ideas, it might of been a great game...

It was near completion, surely theres a BETA somewhere?

If so, that would be a damn shame. Apparantly that Cube magazine had an early build they used to show it off, so whether they were the only magazine that got it because they were doing a dev diary, I don't know.
