I've been seriously collecting Megaman games for about 4 years now, but been playing them on and off for nearly 20 years. I believe I've managed to collect all the European Megaman releases (unless there are some obscure ones I'm short) and I am well on my way to getting the rest of the USA and Japanese releases I am short. My aim is to have all of my collection complete and boxed and bar my Brazilian versions of MM6 and X4 (no manual) and Megaman Star Force 3 Black Ace (no box or manual) all my games are complete. Here are some pictures of my personal favourite games/collectables: The PAL releases of the first 5 Megaman games The NTSC USA releases of all 6 NES Megaman games The Japanese releases of Rockman 1-6 as well as Rockboard Complete releases of all 5 European Megaman Gameboy games. The box on the original Megaman is a bit beat up and I've since replaced it with a near mint version. The regular USA releases of the 5 Megaman Gameboy games, not shown is the Players Choice versions of Megaman I and II All 5 Rockman World games for the Gameboy The 2 different versions of the PAL Megaman X. The Black boxed version is the German version I believe. The other 3 PAL Snes releases - Megaman 7, Megaman X2 and Megaman X3 all complete and in good condition. Some of my favourite PC releases: Megaman Legends (both the USA and Japanese version), Megaman Legends 2 (Both Japanese and Korean/Chinese? version) and the Asian exclusive Rockman Dash: To save the World which is some sort of puzzle game with Legends characters. All 6 main Battle Network European releases. Not shown are the alternate versions of 3-6 and Battle Chip Challenge Personal favourites of mine - all 4 Megaman Zero games A Limited Edition Collection pack which features all 6 Complete Works versions of Rockman 1-6 plus Rockman X7 Megaman 7 artcells used for the "get weapon" artwork in the Japanese game manual. My "rare" shelf where I keep some of my favourite Megaman collectables especially: My Megaman 9 press kit Both Red Sun and Blue Moon GBA SP's and the EXE 2 GBA Both Playstation and Saturn Rockman X4 Special Limited Packs and my Rockman Power Battle and Fighters NGPC demo cart I've got pictures of the rest of my collection here (there were 100+ pictures which were also pretty big so I didn't want to flood my first post with loads of images!): http://www.capcom-unity.com/shadowman16
That's a pretty awesome collection. Thumbs up for having lots of PAL releases (Gotta love the PAL MM1-2 art, excl. GER MM2 ;-)) Think it should be easy to determine whether or not the second X is a German one. Almost certain the text on the back would be German if it was. Dunno if there's a proper char for color/packing differences for various regions of Europe+Australia (though, I seem to recall some Australian releases not having the black design, such as Terranigma, which is white/blue-ish, iirc) Just skimmed through your Unity profile too (Damn! A lot of titles I didn't know existed... and here I thought I was fairly on top of it all, incl. the slightly more obscure regional releases...)
Thanks for the comments Since I'm from England I grew up with the PAL stuff so even though the box art was sometimes awful, the games were slowed down and we missed out on several great releases they still manage to hold a special place in my collection! Thanks for the info about the different Euro packaging, I'll have to check my copies of X again to double check. The obscure stuff has been some of my favourite bits to track down. Its always really fun when I stumble across a release that I had no prior knowledge of. The Japanese and Chinese PC releases are always doing this to me, there are some really obscure or almost un noticable box variants on them (X3 and X4 both got 2 releases in CD style cases in Japan. The only differences are the thickness of the case/spine card and the writing on the spine card and manual back!) Not sure about all the Chinese stuff since I'd wager a couple of the PC releases I have are very good pirate versions since the amount of pirate Megaman stuff out there is insane!
Glad to see a fellow Mega Man fan here. I've almost completed my US collection I only have the Saturn games left, some of PC games, and then quite a few games I need boxes/instructions to really be complete. I already have a few Jap releases so I'll probably try and complete that next, plus I want to get some of the things that weren't released in the US like the Rockman Box and X4 Special Editions.
The limited edition Japanese stuff is some of my favourite bits of my collection. At the time the LE X4 stuff was a nightmare to track down but now they seem much more common. I did get lucky with the Rockman box and win a brand new and sealed one for about €40 a couple of years back Which PC releases are you short btw? I had a hell of a time tracking down complete versions of X4, X5 and Legends. X4 and X5's boxes by design are prone to getting squashed or wrecked easily and Legends seemed incredibly rare back when I was going for a complete version. They do have really nice big boxes though! I'm currently trying (and failing) to get the Satakore version of Rockman 8 for the Saturn. I haven't seen it turn up on Yahoo Japan or eBay for months and I can't find anywhere else with it in stock :crying:
So far the only PC games I have are X5 and the "wonderful" Mega Man DOS game. I got lucky with X5 I found it new at a Game Stop several years ago for like $10 when they were clearing out some old PC stuff. Finding the PC games in good condition is indeed hard. It always seems that if the box is in good condition something like instructions are missing or the case is bad. May just have to buy a couple of each to make a good condition copy. =P I can't believe you got Rockman Box that cheap new though! I don't think I've seen anyone selling it for under $120, but of course I haven't looked too hard for. Unfortunately my current crappy job has really slowed down my collecting, had to really scrape some money together to get the Rockman Dash CFC Demo someone offered me on here.
Thats a great price on X5 for the PC. The older DOS version of MM3 is still somewhat interesting to me. Don't get me wrong the game plays like a dog but I did like the idea of larger maze like levels and it was technically the first instance where you could swim underwater (later seen in MM8). The Rockman Box price was down to luck since the seller only accepted bank transfers and was in Spain so I guess that kept the price down somewhat.
A couple of pictures of the new bits I got recently: Megaman Starforce 3: Red Joker and Black Ace (Black Ace is cart only until I get round to buying a complete copy) Megaman Zero Collection and Rockman X6 (Playstation "Best" re-release) I think I'm about done with the Japanese GBA EXE stuff, I've now got: Rockman EXE, Rockman EXE 2, Rockman EXE 3 (Black and White), Rockman EXE 4 (Red Sun and Blue Moon), Rockman EXE 4.5, Rockman EXE Chip Challenge, Rockman EXE 5 (Team Colonel and Blues), Rockman EXE 6 (Cyber Beast Falzar and Gregar) All of my favourite EXE bits - the Limited/Special Edition stuff: The Rockman EXE 2 GBA LE with a special blue GBA (with small EXE logo's) and a copy of EXE 2 Rockman EXE 4 Red Sun and Blue Moon GBA SP's - A GBA SP with a copy of the game and some stickers. Rockman EXE 4 Double Pack (Both EXE 4 games in 1 bigger box), Rockman EXE 4.5 Deluxe Edition (Comes with the game, a Battle Chip Gate and some Battle Chips) Rockman EXE 5 Movie Edition - Comes with a new slip on cover, a small calendar and a special Forte Card. The game is actually just the normal Team Colonel Edition. Rockman EXE 5 Team Colonel and Blues Guide Book versions - Both come in a Bigger Outer Box with the game, a Guide Book and an exclusive card. Rockman EXE 6 DX Editions - Both come in a Bigger Outer Box with the game, a Battle Chip Gate and some Battle Chips.
Just out of curiousity, I know the original GBA for EXE 2 is different from a normal one, but are the GBA SPs different or just plain red/blue?
As one massive Mega Man fan to another, I salute you sir! I used to have a large collection but sold off almost all my stuff when I moved out, still have my core NES MM games though Thats a nice collection.
The SP's are a plain Blue colour. It makes sense for Blue Moon but I was really hoping they would have at least gave you a Red SP for Red Sun! There are no Rockman logo's on the SP's either, I guess thats what the sticker sheets are for. Thanks I'm not sure I could ever bring myself to sell my MM collection! But I do know I could never get rid of my NES set since those have been with me for the better part of my entire life.
A small update with the latest arrivals: Misadventures of Tron Bonne (original Japanese version + Guide Book) Budget re-release of Rockman Battle & Chase Rockman 8 Satakore Edition Rockman Power Battle Fighters I'm over the moon that I finally managed to track down the Satakore Rockman 8. I've been searching for that one for ages. Its complete with registration card and spine card as well which are awesome bonuses!
The best way to start the week? Having more Megaman stuff arrive! I've been waiting for the GBA games to arrive for what feels like forever! USA versions of Megaman Zero 1-4 and Megaman & Bass complete and in fantastic condition. All of the USA PS2 Megaman releases - Megaman Anniversary Collection, Megaman X Collection, Megaman X7, Megaman X Command Mission and Megaman X8 2 versions of Rockman X4 for the Playstation (Original and PSOne Books release) plus the "PSP Essentials" version of Megaman Maverick Hunter X. The PSP Essentials MHX was damn hard to track down for some reason. I've never been able to track down a copy in this country so I ended up getting it from a guy in Greece! Lastly a book thats interested me for a while. Its a really nice puzzle/game/art book of Rockman 6. And here's the artwork/puzzle for Knightman's "stage". How I wish I could read Japanese! I'm actually getting really close to completing my Collection now. I've got just over 90% of the games that are on my "complete" list and now its really just down to PSP and GBA USA releases plus a couple of misc games.
Wow, amazing collection. Congrats! PS: I almost got that Rockman Collection 1-6 pack for the PS1, back when it was launched. I simply loved the cover arts made for it.
