Shameless due to the fact that it concerns a modded console, although not my own. The culprit is a certain Key-sounding mod chip. The main question is this: Will the original US/NTSC disc run normally on such a modded console (also US/NTSC)? If not, will a shameless backup of this marvelous game operate as it should on a such a modded console? Just in case anyone thinks otherwise, Brawl, and every other Super Smash Bros game is worth every penny, if not more, so for this unlucky console, a backup would be a last resort really, not a first choice. As usual, feel free to delete and edit this topic if you feel it's stepping a bit too far.
No original SSBB (and backup btw) do not work with wiikey, Their support for new game is realy slow. And I'm wondering if they are going to release a new update tbh. If you don't mind having an external intallation I suggest you to got a PIC chip with YAOSM, the support from the coder (Bell) over wiinewz forum is awesome.
It won't even work if you use the Wii Freeloader on a chipped system At least JAP nor US Brawl will load on a chipped PAL Wii via the Freeloader. I'm afraid that Wii will never know the joys of Brawl. (For now)
just for reasons of completeness, I m happy to say that original discs of the game will run on this type of modified machine, provided the correct firmware is flashed. Now, to get an original copy of the game. Too bad my Wii resides in a different country than my current one ><
