    My collection is mostly gaming hardware. I've focused on Sega from the Mega Drive till the Dreamcast.
    Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like 8-bit gaming and earlier, it's just I don't have enough space!
    I first started collecting consoles back in 2003 / 2004 but sold everything in late 2004 from memory.
    Only a few Playstations survived and possibly a NES.

    Started collecting again around this time last year (Oct 2011) with some Mega Drives and a Master System.
    I am starting to get into collecting dev / beta hardware now (carts and systems) as my standard collection is fattening up.
    It's hard to tell where I am going to find more space... but I am going to need it as I am still missing some staple hardware.
    The Mega Jet and Wondermegas just to name a couple of key missing pieces.

    At the moment though I keep finding myself buying items sold as faulty and attempting to repair them.
    The Aiwa Mega-CD is a perfect example of that, but so are some Mega Drive II and Mega CD II units I picked up cheap.
    You can check out photos on my website here too for more kick ass things.
    Is it strange to get a kick out of repairing things? I think I repair these things more than I actually play them! :biggrin-new:

    Don't just don't! I was hoping no one would point out that. TeraDrives just don't give as much love as a LaserActive right?

    I love hardware collections like these, the sega cam/karaoke/terradrives make it something special in my opinion. Hope you get rid of that cold soon though :)

    What would the games be without the hardware right?
    This cold needs to move on, I have things to do and record and it is slowing me down!
    I really need a new entertainment unit that is smaller so I can fit MORE STORAGE SPACE.
    If I do get a LaserActive, Mega Jet, Wondermegas and other bits and pieces...

    Uh oh...

    Just remembered about Sophia. Where am I going to put that beast? :nightmare:

    Great to see your collection Shane! I have some boxed items myself, but boxes do make collections look complete.
    Hopefully you get over your cold, I just got over mine a few days ago it's always working out that way... I want to make videos when I'm sick hah.

    True boxes do add a certain completeness, wish I had more space to put them all down and just roll about in them.
    From what I've read though that is a big no-no for collectors... :victorious:
    Thanks for the kind words everyone! MAY THIS COLD BEGONE! * Waves wizard stick *

    @Segafreak_NL
    Thanks! It needs work, but I figure I've got a while to grow it into an army! :)

    @Druid II
    If you stick the LCD screen into it... that makes it bigger? Or at least more awkward. Where am I going to put Sophia... She's a beast!
    What the heck is a Sega Karaoke Commander? Google says you are lying! Photos or it didn't happen! :smile-new:

    Ah yes, I have seen that thread. THAT THING IS HUGE!

    And I think capacitor repair put me off getting a LaserActive. I'll add it to the list! :encouragement:

    The PCBs inside the Laseractive are pretty fragile too. I started to recap mine and have swapped 78 caps on a single board alone with a trace or two lifted then repaired. Poor thing still won't display video from Laserdiscs at all and as a result MegaLDs are barely useable. On top of that the overly for the MegaLD games is corrupted and in black and white. Hopefully replacing the rest of the caps will fix it.

    I am looking forward to seeing the fruits of your labour once you are done, I hope someone else can come by one though. I am out of cash for the moment, need to sell some of my Dreamcasts back into the wild.
    Whoa whoa whoa, I've got a brand new pair of roller skates... Did you say 78? And there are still more!?!?!
    Does she have lots of shoes?
