They tolerated a bit, but sega imports never really were a worry in respect to taking away money from region licensed items.

EB sold the most walk in store imports, and then there was Tommo dumping all of those pri-fun units they got for a song.

I'm one of the few who actually like the American voice acting overall (probably because I played the first game to death on DC and was relieved to hear some of the same actors in Shenmue II-xbox), though there are some instances where it's just ridiculous. Like the one Pawn Shop employee over in the Man Mo district who speaks with a Texas-style southern accent. WTF?!

That's not to say that I haven't played through both the JPN versions of the games. The Japanese acting is fine, but sometimes it is nice just to focus on the gameplay rather than having to read all those subtitles. ;)

Shit, that says .991 build...which I take to mean 99% complete.

    Damn.

If you've played 'em, have you noticed any differences between it and the PAL version?

Heres the scoop, when the game was about to be released here in the us for the dc, the translated text was complete, yu suzuki said in an interview they were not going to bother translating the voices since it would cost too much to hire actors, most fans complaining about the english voiceds being horrible,as well as making the translation take longer since they would need to record alot of voices and reinsert them in the game. Then as the dc was dieing they looked at the pre orders for the game and discovered it would not be enough to make profit, so they can it since they are leaveing the console buisness anyway. Meanwhile they port it to x-box since yu wanted it on the most powerful system, however durring the development mircrosoft bought exclusive rights to it so they would have a established serise on their console, as well as beat nintendo or sony to aquireing it, with their exclusive deal, microsoft paid the extra money since they felt people would be turned off by reading text all the time with japanese voices so they decied to get english ones.

That's odd. So this is just a NTSC version of the PAL Shenmue then?

Can your confirm this Mr. Rare? Or are there really english voices as well? And if there is are they as bad as the english voice actors in Shenmue I?
