I'm trying to create a selfboot file of Shenmue 2 disc 4 using Discjuggler 4.60.1214-PRO2, but once I hit the start button to rip the NRG file created from FamilyGuy's selfboot setup from Daemon, it proceeds to say it's ripping at speeds over 1000 and keeps fluctuating all over the place. Meanwhile the progress bar doesn't ever go above 0%, and the cdi I'm creating just keeps getting bigger and bigger with no end in sight. Anyone know what could be wrong? I've done the same for a gdi rip of Shenmue 1 and was able to convert the NRG selfboot to a cdi fine with Discjuggler, yet it's choosing to be picky with this one game. Can't imagine it's DJ's fault in this case. I'm using binhack32 since I'm on Vista 64, if that info is needed. Been setting the msi info as 45000 just like with Shenmue 1(I have no idea what this means, just feel like it's relevant ).
Weird stuff, make sure there's no problem while creating the NRG (read the stuff in the command window). Else try re-installing daemon tools, or to install an older version if you ahd updated prior to the problems. You should not need binhack if you're using my pack with "fresh" binaries, but it should not cause any problem either! If the problem is in the convertion from mounted nrg to cdi, the problem can only be : - A invalid NRG file, which is unlikely - A daemon tool bug, also unlikely - A a discjuggler bug, not that much unlikely - A Windows bug, not unlikely at all! Keep me updated! FG [EDIT] If you're trying to make a "vanilla" version of ShenmueII, my 80min version (http://www.mediafire.com/?ljfe1lnqc7mci) is working well, with nothing downsampled!
This is what selfboot.bat shows. I don't think there's any problems. Besides ip.hak not being read, but that's because I set it to read only like a post of yours said somewhere. Really at a loss, even have deleted everything and re-extracted the gdi, re-extracted the data and used a new copy of selfboot, and a couple new versions of discjuggler. Keep getting the same result. Can't imagine why Shenmue 1 works fine yet Shenmue 2 is refusing to cooperate. I'm not trying to make my own version of the game to burn btw, I'm only just doing mods for fun At the same time I prefer to use the JP version(can't stand the English voices), but at this rate I might have to get yours and see if I can just mess with that one instead. This would be so much easier if the resulting NRG file could just boot in NullDC instead of having to convert it to CDI :x
Maybe it's discjuggler that doesn't like the > 100 minute image-size? Try removing the large video file (.sfd) to see if it fixes it, and if yes, mess with the discjuggler settings so it accepts images over 80 or 99 minutes. My version got Japanese voices too. Maybe you could try to use alcohol to make a mds/mdf image? I don't like alcohol (the software) but maybe it's a discjuggler problem. Good luck and keep me informed! FG
You read my mind =p I already deleted the video files and made empty dummies, but Discjuggler still does the same thing. File size was brought down over 200mb so it's below 700mb now, so that seems to disprove the idea it's an issue with size... I also tried making a MDS file but once it's made NullDC won't boot it saying it's invalid for some reason. Downloading your rip now, but will I be able to extract the contents so I can rebuild it? Only am familiar so far with extracting from a gdi. Edit: Well, I uninstalled Discjuggler and just installed it again and now somehow, everything is working. Regardless of that fact I did that already a couple times ago. This thing makes no sense. Ah well
A computer problem ain't got no need to doesn't make sense in order not to be fixed in a non-logical way! [EDIT] Did you know that you can simply mount the NRG image in Daemon tools and boot the virtual cd-drive in NullDC? IIRC you simply choose to open a file in NullDC then manually enter the name of your virtual drive i.e. "X:\".
