But the new Kirby game is so nice to look at! I really don't mind it being 30fps, it's rock stable, never seen a dip. But I get it, we all have our own preferences

You didn't read my other post I guess, where I said a toggle would be perfect. It's a preference thing for me, I don't expect everyone to agree, in fact I know a lot of people like 60FPS. I guess I'm not so picky? I dunno, 30fps doesn't bother me one bit. Shit, I still enjoy Starfox at its maaaaybe 10-15 fps.

 

30fps for a 3D game is fine for me although I do prefer 60fps. 30fps on a side scrolled just looks wrong and really puts me off the action. I was so excited to hear Sonic Generations is now backwards compatable on the Xbox One. I was hoping for 60fps as it should be but all we got was 4K graphics. Yes, these look beautiful but 60fps would have been far more appreciated. Sadly it couldn't be done since the original 360 and PS3 code is locked at 30fps

 

I agree, I haven't picked up my PS3 copy of Generations since I figured out there was a PC version that can run at 60FPS. But again, it's highly game specific. Sonic is a game with lots of speed and precision. Kirby on the Switch however is a slower paced exploration game, and I completely don't mind the 30FPS gameplay. I usually think of it like this; if a game would benefit from nicer graphics, I totally respect a developers decision to choose a 30FPS cap. If a game would benefit with more quick, precise input, then the graphics can and should be sacrificed a bit for 60FPS gameplay.
